Shootingstar Lane

This project combines structural stonework with layered plantings to create a dynamic landscape that balances strength with seasonal beauty. At the back of the property, a flagstone patio with an outdoor fireplace serves as the main gathering space. Because of the site’s slope, the patio is reinforced by large boulders that provide both stability and a natural, rugged aesthetic. Additional landscape boulders were incorporated throughout the planting beds to establish focal points and unify the hardscape with the surrounding gardens.

The plant palette emphasizes both immediate impact and long-term growth. Ornamental trees, spruce, and spreading perennials provide year-round structure and texture, while shrubs, roses, and hydrangeas deliver colorful bloom cycles through the growing season. To ensure the landscape matures gracefully, hardwood trees were added for future shade, building long-term value and comfort into the design. Together, the boulder accents, diverse plantings, and stone patio features create a landscape that is functional for the site’s topography while offering beauty in every season.
